Application Instructions
Placement into classes and programs at The Studio is by audition
only. However, exceptions will be made for actors on the west
coast who wish to be considered for the Summer Conservatory
and can be personally recommended/sponsored by a faculty fellow.
Actors unable to attend local auditions and who are not familiar
with one of our faculty fellows are welcome to submit a video
taped audition.
Please Note
Those actors wishing to be considered for the Nine-Month Conservatory
will be asked to present a classical and a contemporary piece.

Auditions
What to expect at your audtion
Your audition is actually a dialogue. It
serves as a chance for us to get to know you and your work and
for you to get to know us. One of the things you will be asked
during your interview is to talk about where you are in your own
process as an actor and how you think training at The Studio can
help you in your development. You will then be asked to present
two monologues of your choosing. Material can be classical or
contemporary and each piece should not exceed four minutes. A
faculty member may choose to work with you on your material as
part of your audition.
